CHALET CHAMPERY

Transformation, old farm, Champéry
This project takes place in an old farmhouse from the 1950s, built in a traditional manner. It is located at the top of a magnificent meadow facing the Rives cliffs. The front part, in relation to the view, was devoted to living quarters and the rear part to the stable and hay storage. We maintained all the existing timber partitions and chose to install the bedrooms in the front part and the living spaces in the stable and barn. An extension in exposed concrete tinted in the mass completes the composition. It houses a yoga room and the terrace, in relation to the living spaces. The small adjoining attic has been transformed into a small outbuilding, accommodating a bedroom and a bathroom. The insulation of the walls and the roof was made of hemp. The roof is covered with larch shingles.
