LE PETIT MULET

CHAMPERY - VS

Construction of a holiday home in a danger zone.

The chalet is built in a mudslide danger zone. Because of this obstacle, the project had to be conceived in a different manner than what is typical in the region, taking the security of both the house and surrounding nature and homes into consideration.

The triangular shape of the upper side as well as the surrounding wall divert the potential flow of mud, and the concrete construction provides adequate stability. After satisfying structural requirements, the facades had to be adapted to meet the rigorous communal regulations regarding appearance. The interior mixes concrete and wood. Inset lighting, a floating fireplace, a concrete island bar and large kitchen, a sauna, comfortable living spaces and generous storage spaces create the ideal family holiday home.
